I just learned how to tweak the automatic send system so that it sends the whole entire TIP message instead of doing that annoying truncate-at-just-the-wrong-place thing.
Wish I had learned to do it sooner. Truncation made the earlier TIP show up a bit weird for those who didn’t click through the “Read more” link.
But now, YAY! The system is finally accomplishing all of what EVERYONE ASKED FOR:
- The whole meat-and-potatoes part of the TIP is all included in the e-mail without the need to click away for any part of it.
(OOPS! Maybe “meat-and-potatoes” is not the best analogy for a natural health post.)
- The entire content of the TIP saved for posterity on a web page without any extra effort or time spent by me.
- Decent, acceptable formatting contained in the e-mail version.
- Snazzy-cool formatting on the blog page for those who appreciate aesthetics, and for posterity.
- An automatic RSS feed available for anyone who uses a feed reader. (Advantage: Instant and convenient notification of the new posts, where e-mail subscribers may wait 3 hours before notification.)
[The feed address is the site address with ‘/feed/’ tagged on to the site address after .com. ] - Automatic inclusion in our Facebook feed.
- Automatic notification sent to our Twitter feed.
- and, Me left without ANY excuses for not researching and publishing a new TIP every day.
Be healthy,
Bruce
