You Don’t Know What a Blessing This Is.

Boom! What a brash statement for me to make!

Who the heck do I think I am to make such a declaration about you …?

And what am I even talking about?

“This”? — This what?

Since this post is being published only 3 days following the U.S. general elections, for many, this will be about our president-elect, Donald Trump …

For others, this may be about the stunning defeat of their heroine, Hillary Clinton …

For many, their “this” issue is a terrifying diagnosis from their physician …

Or, a pink slip from their employer …

Or, losing their home …

Or, Heaven forbid, the death of their spouse, child, parent, best friend or even their family pet …

Or, the end of a marriage or long-standing relationship.

But, whatever your this is “in my experience,” you truly don’t know what a blessing it is.

Dr. Napoleon Hill defined it this way:

“Every adversity carries within it the seeds of equal and greater benefits.”

The best way to find and nurture these benefit seeds is, BE GRATEFUL.

Looking back on your experiences, you know this to be true.

What seemed to be insurmountable tragedies actually paved the way for your greatest blessings …

… once you opened your mind and heart enough to receive them.

Resistance, resentment and revenge are futile. Weakening. Immobilizing.

To whatever presence, power or circumstance that you hold to have created you and your life, say “Thank you!”

Sure, go ahead and admit that you don’t have a clue what you are being grateful for …

… yet.

But, if you continue to build a blinding wall of anger, grief, frustration and regret, you will never know.

Lately we have all been reminded of the wisdom of tearing down walls and using the rubble to build bridges.

Expressing gratitude builds bridges.

Bridges between you and your Creator.

Don’t get the “Creator” thing?

You are created, therefor some form/function of Creator obviously exists.

This is true completely independently of whether or not we comprehend the forms and functions of creation.

Be grateful!

Thank you Creator!

I trust you!

I am ready to move forward.

Now what?
